Blog Comments

A few days ago I learned that my “Comment via Bluesky” button doesn’t work the way I expected it to. I also had someone using my ask box as a way to send comments to my blog because they don’t have a Bluesky!

So to rectify that, I’ve added a traditional comment system that anyone can use. It is based on my ask box code (detailed in this post), which means it has the same honeypot and IP rate limiter as the ask box. Comments do not appear immediately until after a site reboot, same as webmentions.

I also added dates to comments :)
